Sabah is the Arabic word for dawn.  My thought behind the creation of this painting was not just the dawn of a new day, but also the dawn of spiritual awakening. The peacock is symbolic of spirituality, awakening, freedom, kindness and compassion.  The lotus flower in the woman’s hair is a symbol of purity, spiritual enlightenment  and self- regeneration. As the new day dawns , this is a moment of quiet contemplation and of getting in touch with one’s inner spiritual self.
